Thomasville Georgia honors Shannon Chihuahua with Flag Tribute
25-year-old Spc. Shannon Chihuahua of Thomasville, Ga., was serving as a medic with the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Kunar province, Afghanistan when he died Nov. 12 of "wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire and rocket propelled grenades" according to the Department of Defense report. Chihuahua was attending to a wounded soldier.
On Sunday, November 21st, Thomasville welcomed their hero home, lining the procession streets with flags. Then on Saturday November 27th, thousands from not only Thomasville, but the surrounding communities turned out to line the 40 mile funeral route with flags and pay tribute once again to a Thomasville hero.
